MELANIE NAUMANN

STUDIO OWNER/ DIRECTOR OF ACRO & CIRCUS ARTS PROGRAM

  Melanie has been dancing since she was 4 years old taking ballet/tap/jazz classes throughout her elementary years. She dabbled in cheer and drill team throughout her middle school and high school years in Dallas, Tx. She began her theatre training in middle school and continued it through college and earned thespian status and directed many children's plays and musicals in both Eureka Springs & Portland, Or.

 

  In her 20's Melanie lived in Portland and studied dance at The Center for Movement Arts in ballet & Modern and danced professionally for 2 years in Agnieszka Laska Dancers company while going to school and teaching at top studios such as Footwork Dance and Sherwood Dance Academy. When she moved to Eureka Springs in 2006, she became the program director for Main Stage Creative Community Center and ran and taught after school programs in the arts. She then opened up a dance & theatre program at Enthios in Eureka Springs until creating Soul Motion Studios. She continued to teach and run Soul Motion until 2011. Then she created Violetta Lotus dance and circus arts troupe and ran that for 5 years. Violetta Lotus had the opportunity to perform for Crystal Bridges Museum for a total of 5 performances and events.

 

  Melanie has over 20 years teaching experience in the arts, and about 10 years running a studio/ programs in Eureka Springs and is so happy to continue on the love of the arts in Carroll Co.  
She is married to Yahkie Naumann who owns a boat shop in Eureka Springs, has two kids William (11yrs), and Teviana (2 years old), and nephew Jeraco who is like her son (9yrs). Fun tidbits about Melanie- she is also a fire performer and eats fire, she loves camping with her family, and also sings and plays guitar.

JULIE COOPER VIGLIETTI

HIP HOP/ JAZZ

  Julie Cooper Viglietti originally hails from West Palm Beach, Florida, where she started gymnastics at age 3.  Julie has spent most of her life in NW Arkansas, where she graduated from high school in 2006.

 

  She started her dance career in kindergarten and continues for strive for excellence in her art today.

 

  Dance has always been Julie's passion and it shows in every step she takes.  Julie has been a featured dancer in many shows, including, Mysteries of Magic and in several dance coalition concerts at The Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville.  Julie started taking classes with Elite Dance in their first year.  She is one of the original 30 students and was on Elite's first competitive company team.  

 

  Over the course of her 21 years in dance, Julie annually attended many dance conventions such as Tremaine, CoDance, and Hollywood Dance Jams, where she studied under prestigious teachers and has assisted at Company Dance in Dallas which is known to bring in the best choreographers. 

Julie is in her 6th year of teaching at Elite.  She has taught many styles of dance from jazz, hip hop, tap, tumbling, lyrical, contemporary and ballet.

Julie is very excited to bring her passion and drive for dance to the studio this year.  Her versatility and pursuit of constantly updating her skills ensures that her classes will be full of exciting moves and the hippest music around.
